【Intended Use】

Heparin binding protein Assay Kit is used for the quantitative detection of Heparin binding protein (HBP ) in human plasma specimens in vitro. 

【Summary】

Heparin binding protein is a granular protein secreted by neutrophils, which is also known as cationic antimicrobial protein (CAP37). HBP is involved in the regulation of inflammation and coagulation process. Some studies showed that the concentration of HBP  in plasma could serve as an indicator to effectively predict the occurrence of sever sepsis and septic shock. Early prediction of sepsis can effectively prevent organ failure and death caused by sepsis.

【Assay Principle 】

When an antigen-antibody reaction occurs between HBP in a sample and anti-HBP antibody, which has been linked to latex particles, agglutination results. This agglutination is detected as a change of intensity of light scattering from the agglutinates, with the changing rate being proportional to the quantity of HBP in the sample. Based on the calibration curve loaded on the calibration card,HBP concentration in the sample can be determined.
